Impact Report 2023

We are pleased to announce our Impact Report for 2023 is now available.

At a time when so many are displaced globally and so many things are out of our control, it’s heartening to see smiles and curiosity on the faces of lives we do have the opportunity to impact.

We are excited to share our 2023 Impact Report and just how much play, education and hope was brought to displaced children in Iraq last year.

In the Arbat Refugee Camp there were:

  • 14,871 visits to the Little Friendly Space from 679 children
  • 11,314 visits to the Child Friendly Space from 753 children

In the Drop In Centre:

  • 504 children participated in literacy classes and 21 children returned to school

Education and play remained top priorities, we also provided:

Specialist support and help with processing trauma

  • 40 children visited the Special Needs Unit
  • 205 children had case management in our Child Protection Unit
  • 7 separated children (in the care of grandparents or siblings) were provided with psychosocial support, awareness-raising and parenting sessions for their caregivers

Unique activities

  • 358 children and youth (229 female and 129 male) climbed on 18 climbing days in the mountains around Sulaymaniyah
  • 48 Iranian refugee girls attended 26 football sessions
